Colloquial Talks in Modern Teaching and Trends

Every Wednesday (Starting on the 14th of April) at 1600 CET in Zoom

“I find that teaching and the students keep life going, and I would never accept any position in which somebody has invented a happy situation for me where I don't have to teach. Never."

Richard P. Feynman, Professor of Theoretical Physics

California Institute of Technology, Nobel Prize Winner in Physics in 1965

The EU considers the continuous advancement of education and training to be of profound importance. Widespread access to quality education and training is a driver of economic growth, social cohesion, research, and innovation - and dramatically increases citizens' prospects for personal development.

Educators are arguably the most important members of our society. They give children purpose, set them up for success as citizens of our world, and inspire in them a drive to do well and succeed in life. Our students are the leaders of tomorrow, and teachers/educators are the coaches to prepare a child to be ready for their future.

The ATHENA pedagogical model promotes student-centered curricula. This pedagogical model supports excellence in teaching and supports actions to innovate within the consortium our pedagogy based on the most recent research outcomes. ATHENA envisions creating a learning & teaching environment that promotes the development of soft skills and boosts students’ employability. We will permanently seek innovative approaches to ensure that our pedagogical model is a living piece of ATHENA, always tuned to society's needs in a smooth yet cautious movement towards modern trends.

This series of lectures which will take place every Wednesday at 1600 CET, aims to inform the ATHENA (and beyond ATHENA)ecosystem (scholars, students, administrative staff) about modern teaching & learning approaches that make teaching & learning processes more efficient, innovative, and engaging. Moreover, modern trends in Education and following the press releases and the announcements of the European Commission will be presented by the experts during this online event.

The 1st cycle of colloquial talks in teaching science will start on the 14th of April and will have completed by the 30th of June 2021. All the lectures will happen through the Zoom Platform and the majority of our speakers come from Institutions beyond the ATHENA. All the talks will be in English. Topics that will be presented in this 1st cycle will be:
